2,000 bicycles. A whole country mobilized.

For a Ukrainian refugee navigating a new country, a bicycle can mean the difference between isolation and independence — getting to school, to work, to a semblance of ordinary life. EFM Jerry Case understood this, and in Dublin he turned a shared love of cycling into something remarkable. Working with the owners of RiverCycles bike shop, he launched the Good Bike Project, which has refurbished more than 2,000 used bicycles and placed them directly in the hands of displaced Ukrainians in need. Through a partnership with Dynamic Parcel Distribution, the project now reaches almost every county in Ireland — a volunteer initiative that began with one person and a bike shop, and grew into a national supply chain of dignity.
